St. Valentine's Day

My Inaugural Blog Entry:

Today is St. Valentine's Day. A day of celebrating love. Nothing more fitting than having brunch with our loved ones. Most of the coffee shops are still closed for business due to the Lunar New Year holiday. This year, 2013 is the year of Snake. Everyone who are of chinese descent celebrate the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year as it is known in Malaysia. We however are not able to celebrate the festivities as our Chai's family matriach has gone to her eternal rest.

To move forward, we need to look back a bit.......

We welcomed the year 2013 in Kota Kinabalu (KK), Sabah. Actually, we spent the last two weeks of 2012 in KK. The two weeks were spent, eating, shopping, shopping and shopping. We were shopping for Christmas presents and getting ready for a wedding; Gina & Joe's wedding. Our annual Christmas was simplified to make sure that we have the strength to go through the wedding. Imagine how the couple felt! The photo above were taken in Shangrila's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa. It was taken on the last day of 2012.

The beautiful scene as you look out from the hotel balcony. Simply majestic view.

The pool view was simply awesome. It is overlooking the South China Sea.

This is one of the Buildings in Shangrila's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa compound.

This is what my children were crazy about, the water slide!

When you are hungry, you can come to this place. Sit and enjoy your surrounding while having your meal.

The beautiful landscaped garden.

We ended our day with our New Year's Eve dinner in Lintas. We had a 4 course western meal. Simply delicious. A fitting end to 2012.

My daughter was not happy as we were going back the following morning. She was a crybaby for nearly 3 weeks. She stopped crying after getting a shocking news one early morning. That will be my story for another day.

Happy Valentine's Day!
