Chai Matriarch final journey....

I took a long digital hiatus, my last posting was two days after St. Valentine's day! That was many weeks ago. This is my third posting since I started this blog. To quote Haruki Murakami, 1Q84 "Take a break. Sometimes you need to stop, take a deep breath, and empty your head." And that is exactly what I did! So now, I don't even know where to begin. In January we said goodbye to Chai's family matriarch, my children's great grandmother. She was 85 years old. Her funeral rites was centred on traditional chinese funeral rituals and code of conduct.

Picture taken in 2008. Chai family matriarch with her eldest and youngest grandsons and two great grandchildren.

Last photograph taken with grandmother, taken 3 weeks before her final stroke that put her in a coma for almost 60 days. She survived her stroke and woke up from her coma but bedridden until she succumbed to her illness. She passed away peacefully on January 23, 2013 at 4.00 am. May her soul rest in peace.
