Day 10 : Saturday 23 Nov 2013
All good things must come to an end, and so we bid Taipei adieu today!
Our hotel room at The Loft Hostel 沐舍背包客棧. It was a 5 beds room. I woke up early to prepare for our journey home to Malaysia.
Enjoying the bed for the last time. |
Papa went back to sleep after waking up too early. |
All set to go! |
A beautiful morning greeted us. |
The road was still empty around 6.00 a.m. |
The 24 hour Restaurant, just across the street from The Loft Hostel. |
So happy to be going home. |
Having their breakfast at the hotel lobby. |
We took our sweet time at the lobby. |
While waiting for our cab! |
Love the wall paper! |
Checking the morning paper for interesting news, especially about the kidnapping of Taiwanese couple in Sabah. |
Some of the hostelers were leaving too. |
Joe engrossed in his computer games. |
Relaxing. |
Waiting for the taxi. |
The last pic before boarding the taxi. |
Ta Shee Blooming Oasis 大溪花海農場
Garden of Eden? |
Clear blue sky. It was a heavenly sunny day, the eagle were flying high up in the sky. Like it was saying goodbye to us. |
The movie "I love you so much" was shot in Ta Shee Blooming Oasis. |
One of the many family pic that was taken by our cab driver, Mr. Hung. |
The gorgeous view. |
Love is in the air! |
She wanted a cute pic of her taken. |
This is the moo moo land. |
Joe squinting in the sun. |
Our taxi driver, who was kind, very friendly and he even bought us lunch. |
Getting educated about honey. |
Some of the animals in the farm. |
They were really having fun. |
The cute little animals. |

Trying the gear. |
Such a lovely morning. |
Cihu Mausoleum 慈湖陵寢
Walking to visit the Generalissimo's mausoleum. |
We were there at the right time. Changing of guards at 10.00 a.m. on the dot. |
No camera was allowed in the compound but we managed to snap this. This is the inner courtyard of the mausoleum where the Generalissimo is interred |
The garden outside the mausoleum. Everything is about Chiang Kai Shek. |
This was so delicious. |
Our cab driver took us to a coffee shop along the road to the airport. We had a mouth watering dumplings. Simply delicious!! |
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport
Here we are at the airport, waiting for the counter to open. |
This is the counter for Air Asia, counter 15. It is only opened at 2.00 p.m. for the 3.55 p.m. flight to Kuala Lumpur. |
Inside the departure hall after the security check and immigration clearance. |
Last minute shopping. We bought some chocolates home. |
The postal theme waiting room. Wish our airport has this kind of waiting room. |
Posing for the camera.
The only place I saw selling halal food. |
It is located somewhere near C9 waiting room. |
The boarding hall. Waiting to board our plane. |
Finally, she is seated. What a relief! |
The back of the plane. |
Checking his purchases. |
As we were walking around the departure hall at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, the tune from the movie 'The Sound of Music'(1965) kept playing in my head. This is part of the lyrics from the song 'So long Farewell'.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.
We boarded the plane and heaved a sigh and said goodbye to Taipei. That was the end of our Taiwan adventure.
