ADIEU TAIPEI

Day 10 : Saturday 23 Nov 2013

All good things must come to an end, and so we bid Taipei adieu today!

Our hotel room at The Loft Hostel 沐舍背包客棧. It was a 5 beds room. I woke up early to prepare for our journey home to Malaysia.

The road was still empty around 6.00 a.m.

So happy to be going home.

Ta Shee Blooming Oasis 大溪花海農場

Garden of Eden?

Clear blue sky. It was a heavenly sunny day, the eagle were flying high up in the sky. Like it was saying goodbye to us.

The movie "I love you so much" was shot in Ta Shee Blooming Oasis.

 Cihu Mausoleum 慈湖陵寢

Walking to visit the Generalissimo's mausoleum.

We were there at the right time. Changing of guards at 10.00 a.m. on the dot.

No camera was allowed in the compound but we managed to snap this. This is the inner courtyard of the mausoleum where the Generalissimo is interred

This was so delicious.

Our cab driver took us to a coffee shop along the road to the airport. We had a mouth watering dumplings. Simply delicious!!

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Here we are at the airport, waiting for the counter to open.

This is the counter for Air Asia, counter 15. It is only opened at 2.00 p.m. for the 3.55 p.m. flight to Kuala Lumpur.

As we were walking around the departure hall at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, the tune from the movie 'The Sound of Music'(1965) kept playing in my head. This is part of the lyrics from the song 'So long Farewell'.

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.

We boarded the plane and heaved a sigh and said goodbye to Taipei. That was the end of our Taiwan adventure.
